MANY IMAGES AHEAD! GIVE SOME TIME TO LOAD!
We sure had a great time at Montreal Comic-Con this year. You can hear the live podcasts we recorded here and here, and we’ve got a video presentation of the latter episode coming soon. But how about some more images to hold you over? Here’s a visual representation of some of the highlights (and some Dr. Who crap) of the Con!
We were pretty excited when we saw the rank of our badges. According to Google’s translate function, “intervenant” translates as “involved,” and boy were we!
We found that making Babbsy pose with things was a fun way to pass the time on the show floor.
Bane looked pretty fearsome walking the show floor. We thought he was on a mission to break the Babbsy…
Babbsy was pretty thrilled to see the ECTO-1 on the show floor.
But nothing compares to being made an honorary Ghostbuster! Thumbs up, indeed! (Unfortunately, ghosts ain’t afraid of no Babbsy!)
Uncharacteristically, Babbsy doesn’t give whatever this thing is a thumbs-up.
This German Supergirl poster was the fruit of my haggling labour.
Babbsy is known now to the world as a dog-hater, but how does he feel about Bat-dogs?
Babbsy’s least favourite shirt. I should have bought one just to spite him!
The really impressive cosplayers tended to just stand around outside the show floor, like this Spawn fella.
Superboy was one of our favourites. Babbsy approved.
I myself went more for the more patriotic heroes!
Guardian and Aurora were my favourites!
Noted Moon Knight-aholics Andrew and James went gaga for ol’ Mooney!
Babbsy explained this one to me, but I don’t recall. Something about Dr. Suess, I think. All those Whos down in Whoville or whatever.
We waited for quite a while to get into the world premiere of The Punisher: No Mercy, but it was worth it! Watch the site for coverage of this fantastic fan film (shot in Montreal!), including an interview with its star!
There was a guy with a sign blocking people from taking pictures of The Hitman, but I managed to evade him. Though I’ve been offered millions for this snap by the tabloids, I didn’t want to throw our journalistic integrity here at 24 Panels into question, so I’m publishing the shocking photo here, for free.
I got Chris “Carlemont” Claremont to sign my X-Men/Alpha Flight crossover, but he declined our invitation to do a micro-interview for the podcast because he didn’t think he had a good answer to our question. He then proceeded to give us a perfectly usable answer which we were unable to record.
We were equally psyched with the turnout for our second panel, which may have gone even better than the first! Thanks again to everyone who attended, and especially those who chatted with us afterwards!
